This is my review of Seuls / Alone, a contemporary fantasy mystery / thriller movie from 2017. It's about a kids left alone in a city, trying to find out what to do. The Alone film is slow, but the story is interesting, so I recommend it to fans of the genre.

Update: I've read now the graphic novel series, that the Alone film was based upon, and now the story makes a lot more sense, even though the reasons behind the happenings should have been in the movie. I'll add my new thoughts to the Alone film review.

This is my review of Sea Fever, a science fiction survival thriller movie from 2019. It's about a crew of a fishing boat, that gets into a dire situation on the sea, when they encounter an undersea creature. The Sea Fever film is not perfect, but watchable.

If you'd like to be surprised, I don't recommend you to watch the following trailer, because it spoils the first 90% of the movie, so the only "surprise" you'll get is whether or not the protagonist will defeat the villain. And I'm pretty sure that won't be a surprise. I'd say you should stop at the 1:00 mark, that will give you enough information.

This is my review of Underwater, a futuristic action thriller movie from 2020. It's about the survivors of an undersea drill explosion trying to get to the surface, while something tries to hunt them down. The film looks nice, the actors are mostly good, and there are a couple of interesting scenes. The overall story is okay, the Underwater film is an enjoyable thriller.

The Space Mowgli is a novel by Arkady Strugatsky & Boris Strugatsky, published in 1971, for the Noon Universe. The version I've read is the Hungarian edition, published by Kozmosz Könyvek in 1977. This is a space exploration story, about a group of scientists who run into unexpected events on a terraforming mission. The events are realistic, the characters are bland, but believable. I liked the Space Mowgli book from the Strugatsky brothers, it was an interesting reading, although nothing exceptional.

This is a story of an investigation, set somewhere in Scandinavia of the 1960s, where strange things happen to guests trapped in a hotel. The characters are varied, the events are interesting. I liked the The Dead Mountaineer's Inn book from the Strugatsky brothers, it was fun from start to finish.

The Jurassic Park is a novel by Michael Crichton, published by Alfred A. Knopf in 1990. The version I've read is the Hungarian edition, published by Maecenas Könyvkiadó in 1992. Jurassic Park is an adventure story, set in the near future on a dinosaur-based theme park, where everything goes wrong. Crichton's writing is captivating. He is able to show us a believable character in a page or two. I recommend the Jurassic Park book for anyone who would like to read a thrilling adventure story.

This is my review of Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker movie, a futuristic fantasy adventure movie from 2019. It's about the Resistance rebels trying to protect the galaxy from the superweapon of the First Order. The film is visually astounding, the action scenes look good, though lack any kind of tension. The storytelling is also lacking, but you might enjoy it if you can sit back and don't want to think. I did not enjoy the The Rise of Skywalker film, but I can imagine some could find it interesting.

Although the trailer does spoil parts of the Terminator: Dark Date film, I think it's a good indication of what will you get if you watch the movie.

This is my review of Star Wars: Episode VIII - The Last Jedi, movie, a futuristic fantasy adventure movie from 2017. It's about the Resistance rebels defending against the First Order rebels. It's a visually nice movie, with great action scenes, without any substantial story or logic behind it. I was somewhat disappointed by the The Last Jedi film, but even I have to admit that Disney keeps the stories very even in quality.
