Review - Bulkhead miniature scenery for Necromunda from Games Workshop
Clean up
Cleaning up the Necromunda bulkheads is easy - the sprue channels are on flat surfaces, you only have to scrape the cuts to make them even. The only problematic places are the middle sections of Bulkhead #4, that has some additional sprue channels on the central part. However, as they look futuristic enough, you might even leave them there.
Painting
When you are painting the base colour by brush, I recommend to start with the insides of the slots on the sides, so the fresh, more fluid paint on your brush gets into the recesses.
I suppose painting bulkheads is a lot more easy if you use airbrush.
Bulkhead #1 with Gothic Panels and Ladder: Use fresh, fluid paint for the ladders. They are deep enough that you'll need some fluid paint to reach the bottoms. If your paint covers the surfaces even when diluted to a state that reaches the bottoms of the recesses easily, than you don't have to worry.
Take care that the paint won't flow through the openings and ruin the paintjob on the other side.
Bulkhead #2 with Door and Ladder: Make sure to paint the insides of the door frame.
Bulkhead #3 with Closed Panel and Ladder: Paint normally.
Bulkhead #4 with Opening and Ladder: Take care that the paint won't flow through the openings and ruin the paintjob on the other side.
I recommend you to put some extra varnish on the side slots and on the top peg as they will be used a lot if you intend to store them unassembled.
