Review - Gotham Butcher miniature figure for the Batman Miniatures Game from Knight Models
Assembly level: 1: easy: removing flash and sprue channel remains from flat parts, gluing pieces that stay together, applying filler between pieces with flat texture
Painting level: 1: easy: flat surface with hard details - you can easily put paint on the details by adjusting force to the brush
Very large and heavy miniature.
The rest of the Batman minis are realistic but this mini is really out of human proportions. Even compared to his usualy depiction in the comics, the head is tiny, the hands are too large.
Although there are images with similar proportions:
Tabbed for slottabase. The mini fits the included scenic base, although the left leg goes over the base.
Some of the pieces have small sprue channel remains, and some flash. It's easy to find and remove them.
The sculpt is good, but not especially inspiring.
Assembly: Comes in several parts that do not fit really good together. There are some pegs that would help you place them but the whole thing is a bit unvieldy. You will need to fill the gaps between the parts. My Butcher has huge gaps but probably a more careful assembly would made them smaller. Painting it with undiluted primer hid most of the small gaps.
I could not find a way to assemble it without a large gap between the legs and the body. I don't know if it's just my clumsiness, a casting error or it's just the way the miniature is.
The figure is hollow, that made it easier to stuff the epoxy putty inside to create a seamless join.
Painting: Due to the hunching pose of the mini, I'd recommend painting it while it's not assembled. Reaching the front of the body and the inner parts of the legs will be hard if it's already glued together. (I know, I did it that way.)
Cutting the tab: I'd recommend doing this before assembly. I've glued it together before cutting the tab, and I managed to break it apart. It would have spared me one gluing time.
