Review - Plague Murderbirds kit for Deadzone Ed2 from Mantic Games

Some of the birds are free standing, that you can use in any way, either as playing pieces, or parts of the scenery.

Most of the miniatures are standing on their modern / futuristic scenic bases. If you'd like to use them in a more generic manner, you'll need to hide some of the details. Some of those bases are minimal, that you can just cut off if you wish. One of the birds is sitting on top of a ruined building, and while the bird looks good, the wall around it looks strange, and you have to carve the bird out of the wall if you'd like to use it in any other manner.

There are some things I don't like about their design. First, I don't like scenic bases, especially not those that put additional scenery on the playing area, like the ruined building here. Second, the Deadzone rules say that every part of the model can be used to determine line of sight, including their base. This makes some of these models just very big targets, unless you cut them off and put them on flying stands (or just glue them directly on the base).
