Showdown in Bartertown #3
A Sektur mercenary band, called the Swords of Garak started a showdown against the Orcs of the Golden Legion. After successfully catching an orc legionary in the alleyways of Bartertown, and then taking another hostage without losing a single person, they continued to try their fortune to catch as many orcs as possible.
Terrain rules: Because the event happens at night, the light zones show areas that are lit by torches, providing a clear line of sight. Targets in the shadow zones can be targeted with a subtraction. The walls printed on the scenery count as fences, which provide cover but can be climbed over. The walls of buildings cannot be climbed, but they can be climbed via the ladders on their side.
Groups
Swords of Garak: 1x soldier leader in armour, with sword and shield, 4x veteran soldier in armour, with sword and shield
Golden Legion: 1x orc legionary, in full plate armour, with two-handed weapon and shield. The shield doesn't show up on the miniature as accessory, but the forearm guard has a shield-like design that lends itselft to be used as a shield.

Targrud, the Gruff was maing his way home from the Hellstead. Singing orc marching songs, they screamed at the starters, hearing everyone try to get out of their way quickly. Targrud was surprised to find that at the end of one alley, not only did they not escape, but they pulled a gun straight in front of him.
The orc had trickily figured out to run towards them, then swiftly retreated to cover. As it turned out, during a drunken rumble, he announced it so loudly that it was not surprising that Timor, the Scarred, the leader of the mercenaries, was conducting an assault against the approaching orc and collided before the orc reached cover.
Alkony Wargame system: The movement of the orc triggered a reaction that was used by mercenaries to attack. The meeting point is determined by the speed of the two parties.
Although Targrud was half drunk, he saw that half of it was no joke. He stood against the wall to give the assaulting mercenaries the smallest possible attack area. Although he managed to stop the attack, he wanted to prevent him from being surrounded, so he tried to break away from the fight to reach a nearby ladder and climb up to get a better chance. But when he tried to run away, the mercenary attacks prevented him.
Alkony Wargame system: If you want to move around enemy figures, they will get a free attack against your unit.
The escaping orc was quickly surrounded by mercenaries and teased until it landed. Targrud might have been sober, but here the world was darkened.
Aftermath: Targrud, the Gruff survived the battle without serious injury and even escaped from the captivity of the Sekturs.

Evaluation of the game
Golden Legion: After the first battle and the second defeat, I tried to take revenge on the mercenaries, looking for tactics to defeat them. The search for tactics was so time-consuming that I forgot about the rules of the game, which in the end led to them being defeated just as before.
The bridges and planks came into play because I felt that the space that the alleyways restricted was very limited. Maybe that's why I focused so much on getting up, but it should have been organized a bit smarter.
Swords of Garak: This game was extremely fast. I was a little sorry that my opponent was so easy to beat. The orc that had begun to flee was shaken, and then it only took two laps to become incapacitated.
