The Realmscape: Ghurish Expanse game board is a double sided cardboard mat that is made up of four boards, that are folded three times.
If it is similar to previous Games Workshop boards, the surface is somewhat shiny, but I think it's unavoidable, unless you use matte varnish to remove the shine.
If it is similar to previous Games Workshop boards, the mat stays flat. Some people reported that their gaming boards have arrived warped. I hope they will flatten with time, as a warped board will make play very hard due to the light models and small tokens.
If it is similar to previous Games Workshop boards, the surface is prone to getting scraped or dented. It's probably not water resistant.
Both sides depict Azyrite terrain. One side shows the overgrown ruins of a medieval city. The other side is featureless volcanic landscape.
The boards can be assembled in only one way, and from the looks I'd say you can't combine more sets into one big seamless gaming mat.
