Review - Operation: Icestorm for the Infinity wargame from Corvus Belli
The box includes literally everything to start your Infinity games - introductory rules, miniatures, scenery, dice. All you need to do to start your first game is to assemble the miniatures. Having multi-piece metal models that need to be assembled, primed and glued to a base is probably the only one thing that is not perfect in this set.
The rules build on the miniatures and scenery that is included, and slowly explain everything during the missions that build on what you've previously learned. I consider the Operation: Icestorm introductory rules as an example that should be followed by other companies.
The first few scenarios can be played with mostly any kind of Infinity infantry figures, so you could start using those rules even if you don't have the forces from the Icestorm box. The later scenarios however build specifically on using the special units, like Spektrs, the Reverend Healer or the Father Knight.
There are also dice and tokens included. You get a range ruler and a silhouette template for targeting purposes.

There are plenty of minis, 7 figures for each faction - the Nomads and PanOceania. Both sides get a unique miniature only included in this starter set, the Reverend Healer for the Nomads, and the Military Order Father Knight for PanOceania.
The scenery is very nice, and it covers an entire gaming area. The terrain pieces can be stored folded out, then assembled when used for games. It can be used for any kind of futuristic games, or even modern ones that feature industrial areas.The buildings are made out of thin cardboard, but you can put the box of any Infinity set in them as a support, as they were designed with this in mind. That way the buildings can bear the weight of even a metal dreadnought.
Evaluation
The game is expensive. but this set is great. If you'd like to start playing Infinity, this is probably the easiest (and least expensive) way to get your minis.
